The Biomimicry Guild and Mondo Verde Expeditions are pleased to announce a Biomimicry and Design course at the Tambopata Research Center in Peru. This will be the Biomimicry Guild’s sixth Biomimicry and Design course but our first time hosting it in association with Mondo Verde Expeditions deep in the heart of the Amazon rainforest.
”[The Biomimicry and Design course in] Peru was a wonderful experience. In addition to the amazing physical environment, Janine and Dayna were so incredibly accessible. They taught first how to observe and question and then provided a clear structural framework that facilitated simple solutions. Their approach made it easy to ferret out the essential details of the elegant natural solutions around us. The connection of biomimicry solutions to complex challenges we face is exciting and heartening. There is a better way!
It was such a pleasure to get to know both of them and participate in a well-lead, purposeful workshop in such beautiful surroundings.“
—Linda Paisley
”I have talked to other designers since my return [from the Biomimicry and Design course] about 'what would nature do here' and they are all so curious to understand this new and refreshing approach to design.
”Thanks for the huge body of beautiful work you compiled into a fabulous and life changing course and for all that enthusiastic and knowledgeable energy you shared for nearly a whole week.“
—Jenny Gifford, Biomimicry and Design, Peru, 2007
