NATURE'S 100 BEST™

Nature's 100 Best™ is a list of Nature's earth-tested technologies that humans could emulate in order to solve pressing sustainability challenges. The list will be widely published—in magazines, a book, and online—to reach professional innovators, business audiences, and the general public. The goal is to spur radical reinvention of products, processes, and ways of living while increasing respect for and conservation of biodiversity.
With this list of Life's well adapted designs and strategies, we hope to:
- Populate the world with biomimetic solutions to our toughest sustainability challenges;
- Promote sustainable business and community practices by providing inspirational models from the natural world;
- Bridge the communication and collaboration gap between biologists, who study the genius of the natural world, and the innovators who design our culture (product designers, engineers, architects, and business and civil leaders); and
- Promote conservation of the natural world by inspiring and educating people about the wonders of Life.
The project is a collaboration between The Biomimicry Institute, The Biomimicry Guild, Zero Emissions Research and Initiatives, The World Conservation Union, and the United Nations Environment Program.
